| Dr. Thomas Issac is the Minister for Finance, Government of Kerala State, India. His portfolio includes
Finance, National Savings, Stores Purchase,Commercial Taxes, Agricultural Income Tax, Treasuries, Lotteries, Local Fund Audit, Financial Enterprises,State Insurance and Stamps and Stamp Duties.
Born to Sri. T.P. Mathew and Smt. Saramma Mathew at Kottappuram, near Kodungalloor on 26th September 1952. Started Political activities as a student. Was an active leader of SFI. He is Professor at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. Was State Planning Board Member from 1996 to 2001. Was elected to KLA from Mararikkulam in 2001. Got re-elected in 2006.
Has published many articles on Economics, Planning and Politics in leading Regional, National and International periodicals. Presented Lectures and Papers in National and International Conferences and Seminars. (2000).
Published many books in Malayalam and English on economy, decentralization and politics. Now a member of CPI(M) stste committee and state secretariat. |
